Current housing costs exceed income levels in many economic opportunity zones, hindering financial stability for residents. According to the US Census Bureau there'll need to be annual new house build of 1.3M between 2022 to 2030 in order to track population growth due to housing shortage.

Existing affordable housing options lack quality and safety standards, leading to dissatisfaction among residents. Inadequate supply and Expensive construction methods cause the demand for affordable housing to exceed supply, leading to inflated prices and limited options. Traditional construction methods are time-consuming and complex, delaying the provision of much-needed housing in these zones. Without current zoning policies that limits construction needs being relaxed and redesigned then the efficiency timetables only worsen due the changing demographics of housing needs.
